Dunajec River Rafting - Trip

One of the best ways to get to know the wild, yet beautiful nature of the Pieniny Mountains is to raft down the Dunajec River on a wooden raft.

This unusual, eighteen-kilometer trip through a river gorge carved in limestone rocks is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Europe. The rafting season lasts from April to October, but any time is good for rafting, whether in green spring or brown-gold autumn.

Rafts start from the marina in Sromowce - Kąty or Sromowce Niżne, reaching Szczawnica Niżna or further, to Krościenko in 2-3 hours. Apart from adrenaline, an additional attraction of the rafting are the stories of the raftsmen about curiosities and legends of the Pieniny.

 

Is rafting on the Dynajec safe?

The raft trip down the Dunajec is safe, because each raftsman is properly trained and experienced. Life jackets are available for passengers upon request.
